Do any of you feed hay cubes for weight gain and as supplemental forage? I'd like to add cubes to Gali's diet on the days that he is worked this winter, but I'm not sure how many pounds would be appropriate. I have come here with a ton of problems I have had finding a decent stable to ride/show for. The ending agreement from everyone was to just leave them all together--and I did!

So it seems there is a large gap in my horse-health knowledge where stomach ulcers are concerned. I've just never encountered them! But started reading up about them, and have realized that a few horses I've worked with may have had ulcers or been at risk of them, including my own!

I changed my boy to a diet consisting of just speedi beet (300g/.66 pounds dry + water twice a day) and a small scoop each of lucerne and oaten chaff (they're there, may as well use them up). Sooo, I'd like to pick your guys' brains about feed! I brought my mare, Andie, home from the boarding barn I had kept her at all spring and summer last year around December 31st, 2011. So a bunch of us were out in the yard carving pumpkins yesterday. There's a little bit of pumpkin guts spread out in various places. My question is, if Mr Beluga happens across it, and decides he want's a pumpkin snack, will it be a problem? So I know that there are a fair number of people in the world who bathe their horses daily, especially show horses. A friend of mine was riding one such horse for a while, and bathing him after every ride, and also giving him special oils and feed mixes to help restore the horse's natural oils.
